Fees

Payment for medical consultation is accepted in full at the time of consultation.
Cash and EFTPOS facility is available.
If personal details are registered with Medicare, eligible patients will receive Medicare reimbursement by electronic transfer to their nominated bank account within 48 hours.

Gap payments for surgical procedures are accepted at least one week prior to booked surgery. The remainder of the surgical fee is billed direct to your health fund.

Should you be suffering unexpected financial hardship, you are asked to discuss this with senior practice administrative staff or Dr Hughes as soon as possible to consider the possibility of fee relief.

Dr Hughes understands the financial pressure of private medical care, and endeavors to maintain a fair and reasonable fee structure. In particular, payment schedules are devised to maximize benefits from Medicare and private health funds. Historically, these benefits have not matched the increasing costs of running a specialist medical practice, and Dr Hughes regretfully reserves the right to increase gap payments from time to time. Your signed fees agreement will protect you from such increases during a planned episode of care.
